The Fort Point Studio School is the vision of Lisa Knox,
a painter, portrait artist and former art history instructor.
Lisa’s goal was to create a stimulating environment
for developing
artists, art educators and art professionals —a place where they could create artwork,
strengthen studio skills, as well as gather, share experiences
and refuel.
The setting is Lisa’s studio in the Fort Point
Channel district, Boston’s oldest and largest
artist community. In fact, 249 A Street, where Lisa’s
studio is located, was one of the first artist-owned cooperative
in Boston.
The 1,250-square-foot loft is bright, spacious and air-conditioned.
Small class sizes ensure individualized instruction.
It is also in a convenient location— a short walk
from the South Station MBTA and Commuter Rail, minutes
from the Massachusetts Turnpike (Route I-90) and all
major highways, Logan Airport and the Water Shuttle.
An artist’s studio located in an artists’
building in an artist community: it is an environment
that supports creativity. |
